Drift Racer

Inspired by: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODVV3eUE5zM

Drifting through the suburbs, with unlimited bullet time and chase camera replay.

Cars with low profile tires that work best without hitting curbs.

Cars or trucks with lower suspension but higher profile tires that can go over curbs, but still get bogged down by off road.

Trucks with beefy suspension that slide across dirt, sidewalks, and asphalt with similar ease.

The idea is to build the best drift run through a new course so you can post the video. Bullet time is recorded as a metric, which viewers can use to assess how impressive it is to make the run as "cleanly" as you did.

Bullet time could go as far as a midi track or other command sequence, timed or triggered by the location of the vehicle? Probably it would have to be triggered, as any variance - such as a race condition between threads - could throw the car off by at least the flap of a butterfly wing. Sounds hard, probably scrap this.

How could you tweak a run? Could you pick a point in an existing run to restart from. It would count you in, then gradually transition control over a second or two. Essentially just assisted steering. So you could spend time refining a run, as long as you were willing to redo the run from the edit point onward. Number of edit cut points would be visible.

New courses are released regularly. Eventually ML generated, with human curation and final approval.

Add static hazards, police, other traffic, and non-static hazards. (if warranted by learning or market traction)

Maximize use of the stuff that is built in to Unity. If you're going to couple to proprietary, use every advantage it offers.

Tire smoke and skid marks. Skidding sounds.
